Planning frictions and the incomplete take-up of health investments: The case of HPV vaccination
A randomized trial with 5,907 Colombian parents tested whether a concrete vaccination time or an ownership reminder could help families complete their daughters’ HPV schedule. Suggesting a specific day and time increased second-dose completion by 8.67 percentage points—about doubling the 8.63% control rate—and cost an estimated US$0.38 per additional completion in direct implementation costs. Adding ownership language produced no detectable additional gain.
